What brands do you use?
We are an authorised Brazilian Gold spray tan salon. Brazilian Gold is non-alcoholic based so it doesn’t clog or stick.
Sleep-in spray tans and ‘shower in the hour’. We can provide both. What’s the difference?
Sleep in spray tans are those you leave on overnight and can be applied at 6%, 8% 9% up to 14% levels. These indicate how dark the tan is, the smallest percentages being a lighter tan.
‘Shower in the hour’ tans are a light, natural tan with the added convenience that you can shower within an hour, leaving you with a natural, tanned radiance. This is perfect is you wish to squeeze a spray tan in after work or before the school run but wish to shower before you go out for the night.
The tanning effect continues to develop subtlely a little just after the shower, but won’t make your appearance too dark.
High quality self-tanning products
We can also supply Brazilian Gold products which will help you remove spray tan or help you to gain or retain a beautiful colour at home.
Brazilian Gold ‘Soak-Off Oil’ can be added to your bath (just a few drops) and will remove your spray tan.
Brazilian Gold ‘Self-Tanning Mist’ is a self applying mist (£19.99) which will give you 5 or 6 complete applications. With the tan from this easy to apply mist lasting approximately a week, you can get 5 – 6 weeks of tanning from one bottle, making this high quality product highly affordable.
Just ask in the salon about these products.
Preparing for your spray tan.
It is advisable to shave or wax at least 24 hours before your spray tan session. Exfoliate the evening before, particularly around knees, ankles and elbows where dry skin is more likely. Removing dead skin allows the tan to adhere to the skin much more easily, giving a smoother, more consistent tan.
Avoid other excess moisturising and remove all makeup thoroughly prior to your session. Otherwise, this can act as a barrier against your spray tan.
The beautician should have complete and easy access to your face and forehead. For this reason, we recommend that customers with long fringes, or medium to long hair use a headband or hairclip.
How long does a spray tan last?
A spray tan will typically last 5-8 days. The right care before tanning and afterwards can extend this. Your consultant will be happy to talk you through this. Tan extenders or moisturisers applied 24 hours after your session should help to extend the length of the tan.
I am pregnant. Can I have a spray tan?
It is recommended that pregnant customers avoid spray tanning during the first trimester (13 weeks). Customers who are breast feeding should also avoid spray tanning.
How long does a spray tan take?
It normally takes 6 – 8 minutes for a complete application. You should then allow 5-10 minutes for your spray tan to dry completely.
